Tomasz Karasek, MSc
Research interests:
The main object of my scientific interests is a group of freshwater macroinvertebrates. Currently, my research focus on the use of these organisms in biological monitoring of freshwater environments (watercourses and small water bodies). I am also interested in faunistics and ecology of dragonflies, as well as the predator - prey interaction occurring between aquatic invertebrates.
Grant projects:
“Influence of presence of invertebrate predators on behavioural responses and life history changes of chosen snail species of Physidae family” (2012-2013) – project leader
“Testing and optimization of non-lethal method of macroinvertebrates taxonomic composition analysis of small freshwater bodies for assessment of degradation degree” (2013-2014) – project leader
"Ecological status assessment of flowing waters based on benthos analysis: developing and testing new method", NSC research project, project lider; dr hab. Paweł Koperski (2011-2014) - participant
